The Philadelphia Zoo

Last Saturday, we took advantage of the nice weather and finally took the little ones to the zoo in Philadelphia.  The zoo is the oldest in the country, so it was on my list of things to see while we're living in this area.

Of course there were lots of animals...

These peacocks roamed freely throughout the zoo...
We came across this house in the middle of the zoo.  Apparently, it was a country retreat for one of William Penn's descendants, John Penn.  I thought it was neat to see this historic building in what used to be considered the countryside, but is now a very busy part of the city.
I think the kids really enjoyed seeing all animals.  It's been over a year since we've visited a zoo, so I'm glad we finally decided to go.
