Travis and I celebrated our eighth wedding anniversary this week, so tonight we took my mom and stepdad up on their offer to babysit and went out for dinner. We hardly ever do anything with just the two of us, so it was nice to be able to go out after 7:00 pm and have uninterrupted adult conversations. We headed downtown to Mr. Friendly's.
We started with fried green tomatoes and fried oysters. Healthy? No...but oh so yummy. Then Travis ordered his usual ribeye and I tried something new for me...a Rosemary-Cabernet Grilled Rack of Lamb. Everything was delicious!!! We started to order dessert but then decided, hey, the night is young. Let's head to another restaurant. Preferably some place with televisions where we can catch the Carolina game. So off we went to Ruth's Chris where I already knew I would order one of my favorite desserts EVER...the Apple Crumb Tart. Mmmm!
We had a wonderful night! It seems as if we just got married, but a lot has certainly happened during the last eight years. We have three little ones for crying out loud!!! Sometimes its still hard to believe. Anyhow, I'm so thankful to God that I get to enjoy this life with my best friend and I look forward to many, many more years together.
